Tighten Up Your Facial Skin with Thermage®

As we pass our 35 or 40th birthday, most of us could use a little tightening of the skin on our face. But at this point, we’re not interested in surgery. Maybe you could use the radiofrequency heating of Thermage at AesthetiSpa. Thermage delivers heat energy into all three layers of the skin, tightening and smoothing it.

Thermage is kind of a facelift without the surgical gown.

How Thermage works

Your skin is made up of three layers. The epidermis is the relatively thin outer layer of the skin. Beneath it is the dermis, a collagen-rich layer that is responsible for most of the skin’s structure. Below the dermis is the subcutaneous layer, also known as the fat layer, where even more collagen fibers live.

Everything is fine, until we hit 20. What? 20! It’s true. As you age, collagen production drops one additional percent every year after age 20. This decrease in collagen allows the sagging and wrinkle formation that is common with aging skin.

Thermage tightens and renews the skin’s collagen in all three layers of the skin. It uses Capacitive Radio Frequency technology to deliver heat energy into the lower layers of the skin. This causes two things to happen. First, the web of collagen immediately tightens, improving skin texture and tone. Second, for the next four to six months, the body creates new collagen in the area as a response to the perceived injury that the heat creates. Thermage is different than most skin-tightening treatments, as its results are obtained in a single treatment.

Where does Thermage work and how long does it take?

Thermage can be used on most parts of the body, especially the face, around the eyes, the abdomen, upper arms, back of the hands, thighs, and buttocks. Depending on the area treated, Thermage treatments at AesthetiSpa take as little as 20 minutes up to a full hour.
