After a lifetime of laughing, smiling, furrowing brows, or a major life event such as childbirth and constant exposure to many environmental factors your skin can really start to show the signs of aging. Your skin’s collagen and elastin simply break down faster than your body can rebuild them, causing your skin to lose resiliency and elasticity – which often leads to wrinkles and pockets of loose, sagging skin.
What Is Thermage® FLX?
Thermage® is a clinically proven, non-invasive cosmetic treatment that can address the look and feel of aging skin on your face, neck, eyes, and body. It is a targeted, effective treatment that can help improve the appearance of sagging, loose skin in a single treatment with minimal downtime. Unlike lasers, Thermage works on all skin types and colors. At AesthetiSpa, we use Thermage® FLX for our treatments. This is the most up-to-date system which incorporates vibration into face and body treatments for enhanced comfort. It also measures the impedance of the tissue to ensure each pulse is maximally delivered for the best results.
Who Are Candidates For Thermage® Treatment?
Thermage® is a year-round treatment and perfect for when you want to tackle the effects of aging on your skin and want to look younger. When you want real results you can’t get from lotions or creams and you don’t want an overly drastic change or extended downtime that comes with surgery – Thermage® is the solution. As the leading provider of Thermage® in the Southeast, AesthetiSpa's registered nurse Kelly Hunt has been achieving great results non-surgically for years!
How Does Thermage® Skin Tightening Work?
Thermage® uses patented radiofrequency technology to safely deliver heat to the innermost layers of collagen-rich tissue re-invigorating your body’s natural renewal process. The radiofrequency energy works with your body, tightening existing collagen and stimulating the formation of new collagen to help your skin look sleeker, smoother and younger. Although visible results may be immediate, most experience measurable tightening and contouring gradually in the 2 to 6 months following treatment as your body regenerates collagen. Results can last years depending on your skin condition and the aging process.
What Areas Of The Body Does Thermage® Treat?
Thermage® treatments are customized to your needs and are effective on:
- Eyes– The effects of age are typically most noticeable around the eyes, where the skin is delicate and thin. Over time the eye area will lose elasticity, begin to droop and wrinkle, even creating heavy “hoods” that make you look older.
- Face and Neck – Your face is the area of your body most exposed to environmental elements bearing the brunt of factors such as sun damage. Over time your features lose definition, especially in the jawline, lips, and neck.
- Body – Aging doesn’t just affect the skin on our faces, our bodies see the effects too. Crepey, sagging skin and unwanted bulges and dimples that just can’t be remedied with exercise or diet. It’s skin – not fat – that often gets in the way of achieving the youthful look you desire.

Does Thermage® Treatment Hurt?
There is no pre-treatment preparation such as blood work or fasting. However, prescription medications are used to ensure your comfort and we recommend those be taken 1 hour prior to the start of treatment. We also offer PRO-NOX for additional comfort.
What Is The Recovery Process After Thermage®?
There is no special care required after treatment, aside from basic skincare maintenance and sunscreen. Most patients return to regular activity quickly after treatment. There may be some temporary redness or minor swelling afterward, but this usually subsides within 24 hours.
