AesthetiSpa uses the latest laser technology to treat unwanted veins. Laser vein removal is noninvasive, fast, safe, and effective. Using the YAG Laser, also used in Excel V treatments, allows us to treat a full range of vascular lesions including diffuse facial redness, fine facial veins, “cherry” red spots, and “spider” leg veins.
What Will The Laser Do To The Veins?
When treating unwanted vessels, the blood temperature at the targeted area is elevated to a level that causes coagulation without damage to the epidermis or surrounding tissue. Your body then reabsorbs the vessel just like it would a bruise. Because the laser energy heats up the vessel as well as the local skin, the cooled tip of the laser handpiece is used to reduce the temperature rise in the epidermis, which protects the skin. Multiple treatments may be necessary to obtain a satisfactory response for some leg veins.
Will Laser Therapy Work On My Leg Veins?
Almost all spider veins respond well to laser vein treatments, but a free no-obligation consultation with one of our physicians allows us to most effectively evaluate and assess your veins prior to beginning any treatments. If during the consultation we determine that you are eligible for treatment, we will discuss all of the benefits and risks of the procedure. Any prior surgery or treatment on your veins could affect the treatment outcome. In some cases, further testing may be recommended to determine if there are underlying venous problems.
What Does Laser Vein Removal Feel Like?
Although many patients report little or no discomfort, some may experience a mild stinging sensation only when the laser pulse is delivered. The cold tip on the handpiece helps soothe the skin as the laser is delivered.
How Long Will The Vein Removal Treatment Take?
Treatment time should be 30 to 60 minutes but may vary depending on the number and size of the vessel(s) to be treated.
How Many Spider Vein Removal Treatments Will I Need?
In many cases, significant improvement is realized in as few as 1 to 3 treatments. In some cases, new spider veins may appear and therefore additional treatments may be necessary. Treatments may occur at 4-6 week intervals.
When Can I Resume Normal Activities After My Laser Vein Treatment?
Although we encourage you to resume normal activities almost immediately, we do ask that you refrain from vigorous exercise and avoid hot tubs, whirlpools, and saunas for at least 24 hours after treatment. In addition, you must avoid direct sun exposure after treatment until the area is healed and if you do go in the sun, you must protect the treated area with a minimum SPF 30 broad-spectrum UVA/UVB Sun Block.
