Medical Services

We offer treatments for a number of medical conditions including Acne, Rosacea, Hair Loss and Excessive Sweating.

Acne

Acne is the most common skin condition in the world with 80% of people having acne breakouts at some point in their lives. While most common in teens and young adults, this disorder of the skin’s oil glands and hair follicles can affect all age groups and frequently causes whiteheads, blackheads, pustules and papules with more severe acne causing nodules and cysts.

Acne most often occurs on the face, neck, shoulders, back and chest and can lead to long-term sequelae such as scarring, redness, brown discoloration and poor texture. Peels, laser and light-based treatments along with a professional skin care regimen can be highly effective for active acne and long-term sequelae.

At AesthetiSpa we have many treatment options, procedures and products, for the management of acne. We offer complimentary consultations to establish a customized treatment plan that is right for you!

Treatment Options Include:

Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory condition that is characterized by facial redness, visible blood vessels, pustules and flushing. Affecting 1 in 20 Americans, this skin disorder occurs more so on the face (cheeks, nose, forehead and chin) but in rare cases can also occur on the neck, chest and ears. It is most common in fair-skinned individuals and there tends to be a family history. This condition leaves skin sensitive and if left untreated, rosacea will worsen with time. While the cause of rosacea is unknown and there is no cure, there are multiple treatments and professional skincare products to relieve and manage symptoms, calm the skin and deter progression.

At AesthetiSpa, we are pleased to offer the award-winning Excel V laser system as one of our treatment options. Excel V is the new gold standard for the treatment of vascular lesions and is especially effective for the superficial vessels that contribute to the redness and flushing of rosacea. We offer complimentary consultations to establish a customized treatment plan that will help you reduce signs of rosacea, ease discomfort and prevent rosacea from worsening.

Treatment Options Include:

Hair Loss

Hair loss of 50 – 100 hairs per day is normal, however, many women and men experience excessive hair loss. Excessive hair loss is more common problem as we age and can lead to lower self-esteem and loss of confidence. There are many potential causes for excessive hair loss including heredity, medical conditions, medications, hormonal changes, poor nutrition, rapid weight loss, stress or vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Once these potential causes have been investigated, AesthetiSpa offers the oral supplement Viviscal PRO as possible treatment options.

Treatment Options Include:

Excessive Sweating

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterized by excessive sweating of the extremities, underarms, and face. Excessive underarm sweating is an issue for many people and is worse in warmer climates such as the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Chronic hyperhidrosis can interfere with daily activities, but it can also be brought on by stressful situations or events such as wedding and parties. It is embarrassing, stinky, and can ruin clothing! If antiperspirants aren’t working well and you want longer relief, Botox is an FDA approved treatment option and can effectively decrease sweating in the underarm area.

In one clinical trial involving 322 people with severe underarm sweating, 81% of those who received Botox injections had over 50% reduction in sweating. And 50% had their excessive sweating relieved for up to 7 months.

At AesthetiSpa, we offer Botox injections in the underarm area for treatment of excessive sweating and have found it highly effective, typical dosing is 100 -150 units. In some instances, your insurance company may cover and reimburse you for this treatment, so we recommend checking with them prior to seeking treatment. We don’t file insurance but will be happy to provide you with a written receipt you may use in requesting reimbursement.
