Eyebrow Waxing Since shaping of the eyebrows cannot be performed with the laser due to the close proximity to the eyes, we offer eyebrow waxing. Eyebrow waxing is performed by our esthetician and is quick and easy. The brow is the only body area for which we offer waxing.
Although not safe for shaping the eyebrows, laser hair removal is safe for permanently reducing the hair in between the eyes (unibrow).
What is waxing? Waxing is a temporary method of hair removal, which removes the hair from the root. New hairs will not grow back in the previously waxed area for three to four weeks. Waxing is accomplished by spreading a warm, soft wax over the skin. The wax then hardens when it cools, thus allowing the easy removal of the wax and hair.
How do I prepare for eyebrow waxing? One week prior to waxing, you should stop the use of retinoids (Retin-A, Tazorac, Differin, Avage, Retinol, etc.) on your face. Retinoids make the skin more sensitive, and eyebrow waxing is not recommended while using retinoids.
What are the side effects? After waxing, your skin may be red and irritated for 24-48 hours depending on the sensitivity of your skin.
