Medical Director
Christy L. Cone, MD grew up in rural South Carolina before attending the Calhoun Honors College at Clemson University where she graduated summa cum laude and was named the outstanding senior in the college. She received her medical degree from The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed her residency at the Carilion Health System in Roanoke, VA. While in Roanoke, she earned Intern of the Year honors, was The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Outstanding Resident in education her final year, and served as the Chief Resident of education. She is board-certified in Family Medicine.
In 2004, Dr. Cone moved back to the Charleston area to open AesthetiSpa in Mount Pleasant. Her interest in non-invasive medical aesthetics began while in private practice in Virginia, where she developed a passion for skincare and the remarkable new non-surgical technologies that foster aging gracefully.
Since then, she has received extensive additional training and certifications in microdermabrasion, chemical peels, aesthetic laser treatments, and BOTOX® Cosmetic. She is an active member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and has been selected as a panelist at the first annual Women in Medicine: The Evolving Journey conference in Williamsburg, VA at the end of July 2007.
Dr. Cone maintains an active presence in the local community. She is a member of Women at Work, The Center for Women, and the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce's CEO Roundtable for Women.
She is also a volunteer physician for the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Free Clinic in Mount Pleasant.
Dr. Cone enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her nieces and nephews. |
